Teachers

Anne Michelle Doran

In 2021, Yoga became a deeply healing addition to my life. I started as a skeptic, but after a few classes, that flipped to curiosity, and slowly I began to be in my body and rediscover joy.

My teaching style holds onto the idea that what you practice on your mat will show up for you in the world. I encourage tuning into yourself and acknowledging where you are today, and approaching challenges with levity and curiosity. My classes aim to be accessible, permissive, and incorporate functional movement and strength. I believe understanding the why behind things is important and will pepper my classes with educational tidbits, but also will find moments to let go of thinking, connect with yourself and flow. I have completed the 50-hour Restorative YTT and the 250-hour YTT at The Branches, and continue to seek out new learning opportunities.

Off the mat, I have many interests around connectedness, nature, creativity, and care. My days are filled with home restoration, landscaping and gardening, cooking, and time with my family. I sit on the Board of Directors for JM Drama (The Registry Theatre) and volunteer with the city on the Love My Hood grant committee.
