Tarot as a Tool for Self-Reflection is a practical, integrative workshop designed to help you use tarot and oracle cards to deepen your self-awareness. Through simple, step-by-step techniques—like selecting meaningful questions, choosing and interpreting cards, and journaling your insights—you'll gain clarity without any complicated divining. This workshop isn’t about predicting the future; it's about using the cards as a mirror to explore where you are mentally and emotionally.

In addition to working with tarot, the session will incorporate restorative yoga, mindful movement, and meditation to help you ground, relax, and tune into your intuition. These practices will support your connection to both the cards and your own inner wisdom.

By the end of the workshop, you'll have easy-to-use tarot spreads, journaling prompts, and mindfulness tips to integrate into your daily self-reflection practice—helping you better understand yourself through the symbolism and messages of the cards.

    * Tarot and oracle decks will be available to borrow during the workshop, but we encourage you to bring your own if you have a favorite.

Format: This workshop will take place IN-STUDIO only.

  • IN-STUDIO Building Your Back-to-School Anxiety Toolkit: a workshop for teens (ages 12+) and their parents

    with Jennifer
    Details

**price listed is per pair (one teen & one parent/guardian)

    $85+hst Standard Rate | $120+hst Community Supporter

Subsidized Rate:  20% off the Standard Rate (for more information on how to access the subsidized rate, visit our Sliding Scale Pricing webpage)

Does the mere mention of “back-to-school” in your house cause stress? Do emotions run high as September approaches? Parents and teens alike deal with the anxiety brought on by school and this workshop is designed to support families through this time.

Both parents and teens will participate in a short experiential introduction to the mind-body connection with anxiety. Then teens will head to their own space for further practices and resources to put in their “Anxiety Toolkit”. Teens will learn about what happens in your body when you feel anxious and what you can do about it, and will get teens started with building a repertoire of techniques to support emotional balance and nervous system regulation. Everything offered in the class is optional, and the practice is beginner-friendly. The workshop is welcoming to all genders and to neurodiverse teens.

After the intro together, parents will meet separately to learn more about creating a supportive home environment for teens experiencing anxiety. Children take their cues from parents, and even teens are strongly influenced by what is happening at home. We’ll review important milestones in adolescent development, signs to notice in your kids, and how you can support you and your family to build emotional resilience through the challenging transition to adulthood.

Part educational and mostly experiential, both teens and parents will leave with lots of resources to keep exploring this fall. This workshop serves as an optional introduction to a more fulsome program for teen stress coming this fall.

Mental Health Disclaimer: While one of the teachers for this course is a Registered Psychotherapist, and yoga is an evidence-based practice to support mental health, this workshop is not group therapy. Our classes are intended to be a complement to, but not a replacement for, professional mental health support. Participants are encouraged to seek adjunctive treatment with a mental health professional to support them as needed.

Format: This workshop will take place IN-STUDIO only.

Subsidized Rate:  20% off the Standard Rate (for more information on how to access the subsidized rate, visit our Sliding Scale Pricing webpage)

Soothe your nervous system and reconnect with your body

Living with chronic pain can be physically and emotionally exhausting — and often isolating. This 2-hour workshop offers a gentle, affirming space to move, rest, and reflect in community. Together, we’ll explore ways to support the nervous system, cultivate self-compassion, and reconnect with your body without pressure or expectation.

We’ll begin with a welcoming reflection, introducing themes like Spoon Theory, the grief of shifting expectations, and how pain can impact our relationships. You’ll be invited to connect through quiet reflection or optional sharing — all at your own comfort level.

Then we’ll move into a toolkit of gentle movement and nervous system supports, including accessible practices like orienting, tapping, and breath-based movement. These techniques are designed to soothe, settle, and offer new ways to move with care.

The second half of the workshop will focus on restorative yoga: long-held, prop-supported poses, breathwork, and guided meditation (such as a reflection on rebuilding trust in your body).

Everything in this workshop is optional. You are welcome to participate as much or as little as feels right. No yoga experience is needed, and there is no expectation to talk about your pain in order to take part.

Props like bolsters, blankets, and blocks will be provided. This workshop is beginner-friendly and held in a “no shame” space of choice, care, and permission.

This workshop is co-led by Lisa Beraldo and Alissa Firth-Eagland, who bring their own lived experience with chronic pain — including Rheumatoid Arthritis and Post Concussion Syndrome. Their shared journeys deepen their compassionate teaching approach, offering practical tools rooted in understanding and empathy.

Format: This workshop will be offered in a hybrid (virtual and in-person) format. By registering for the IN-STUDIO option, you are reserving an in-person spot at the studio. If you prefer to attend the workshop online, please register for the VIRTUAL listing as in-person spots are limited.

    2-hour workshop with Nicole DeNoble

Deadlifting isn't just for powerlifters. It’s for anyone looking to feel stronger and more capable. The deadlift is one of the foundational strength movements that teaches you how to safely and powerfully pick something up off the ground. Whether that “something” is a sleeping child, a loaded laundry basket, or a barbell, the deadlift develops strength you’ll feel in real life. This lift engages your whole body, with a focus on strengthening the posterior muscles—glutes, hamstrings, and back—all critical for posture, movement, and injury prevention.

Training your deadlift progressively over time supports increased muscle mass, bone density, and confidence in your body’s ability to meet physical challenges. In this 2-hour workshop, we’ll break down the deadlift step by step, and you’ll get hands-on coaching and feedback, and spend dedicated time practicing and refining your form. We’ll cover how to set up your barbell, what to feel in your body during each part of the lift, and how to train it safely and progressively.

Whether you’re curious about barbells or already lifting and want to improve your technique, this workshop is a chance to ask questions, get personalized support and build confidence in a supportive space. Join Nicole to explore what makes the deadlift such a foundational movement—both in training and in everyday life.

About Nicole DeNoble: Nicole is an empowering and down-to-earth instructor known for her light-hearted and practical approach. She combines years of experience coaching movement with a strong foundation in anatomy, yoga, and strength training. As the creator of the Strength Essentials program at The Branches, Nicole has helped dozens of beginners feel at ease with barbells—breaking down complex movements into clear, accessible steps for all learning styles and bodies. Whether you're new to lifting or ready to dial in your form, you’ll feel supported and inspired by her teaching.

Slow down. Unwind tension. Rest deeply.

Have you been moving through life a little too fast? This special candlelit workshop is an invitation to pause, soften, and reconnect with your body through deep self-care and restorative rest.

We’ll begin with 30 minutes of guided myofascial release using Yoga Tune-Up balls and inflatable balls to gently roll out tension in the head, neck, and shoulders. Then we’ll ease into 60 minutes of luxurious restorative yoga, using bolsters, blankets, and props to fully support the body in long-held, restful poses. These shapes help calm the nervous system and create space for breath, stillness, and deep release.

No experience is necessary — all levels are welcome.

Want to join from home? You’ll need a pair of Yoga Tune-Up balls and an inflated plyo or Coregeous ball. These are available for purchase at the studio or through our online shop for local pickup.

About Carol Kennedy: With a deep appreciation for restorative yoga and myofascial release, Carol is dedicated to creating safe, effective practices that support deep relaxation and self-care. She has completed over 100 hours of specialized training, including 50 hours in myofascial release, 40 hours in restorative yoga, and a 20-hour anatomy intensive. While restorative yoga has been part of Carol’s journey for over five years, myofascial release is a newer addition to her toolkit. She’s passionate about integrating this technique—using gentle, sustained pressure on connective tissue— with a nervous system-informed approach to enhance relaxation, regulation, and overall well-being.

By registering for the VIRTUAL option, you will attend via livestream in Zoom. If you prefer to attend in-person, please register for the IN-STUDIO listing.

What Students Are Saying About Our Courses

I learned helpful modifications for yoga poses. It felt like a safe space for people in larger bodies and our needs were met and understood. This course was a great introduction to The Branches yoga studio and I will be returning!

Re: Yoga for Round Bodies

Karina L

I learned how important feet and ankles are for balance, and I improved a lot. I went cross-country skiing last weekend, and felt I had better control and stability than I've had for years, and I think it is all about strengthening my feet and ankles and hips. I also really liked that there were many suggestions every week on how to build in these exercises into daily life. Linda is experienced at giving instructions... the clear verbal instructions were very important.

Re: Yoga for Dynamic Aging

Arli K

I gained a way to calm "The Sunday Nights." I would recommend this course to others. It was very relaxing, it made me take time to rejuvenate and calm myself before another busy week.

Re: Deep Relaxation: Stretching & Restorative Yoga

Jenn

I learned the importance of mobility and range of motion for my joints, strength, and yoga practice. I gained lots of new exercises to incorporate into my fitness schedule. I would absolutely recommend this course to others. Mobility seems to be an undervalued form of fitness and is very important.

Re: Beyond Flexbility: Upper Body Mobility

Tasha

I have taken many classes with Nadine, and I've learned at least one thing from each one, eg. acceptance of where I am at, physically and mentally, at that particular time. As an experienced teacher, Nadine is an excellent instructor, always encouraging us to trust our own reactions, while introducing elements that are new and challenging along with others that are familiar and comforting.

Re: Yoga for Mental Health

BH

I learned so much! Working through trauma takes time. The more work you do the more you will understand and grow. Trauma is helplessness trapped in the body. Loved this course. Thank you so much for offering it. The teacher was fabulous.

Re: Embodiment for Trauma Recovery

I liked the flexibility of in-person or virtual.

Very easy to follow along and educational.

Really appreciated being able to access the videos at a later date.
