Angela Wray

Angela is a queer, white settler on the Haldimand Tract, who uses they/them pronouns, certified through Pranalife (now known as The Movement Life) in 2019. Angela was drawn to yoga to support their mental health and aid in trauma recovery. Angela has been teaching yoga for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community for two years. Angela is a lifelong student of yoga and their teaching is influenced by the following trainings: 'Teaching Trans Affirming Yoga' with Heart- The Trans Yoga Teacher, 'Adaptive Pose Breakdown' with Cara Suttie- Raevynn Yoga, 'Yoga History & Cultural Appropriation' with Indu Vashist and 'Strength 101: The Theory and Practice of Getting Stronger' with Kathryn Bruni-Young and Jules Mitchell.Yoga is an opportunity to connect with ourselves physically, emotionally, and spiritually, explore our mind-body connection, be part of a community and support healing.Yoga doesn't need to be so serious or look pretty. My classes are theme driven, playful, active and introspective, filled with soothing techniques for the nervous system, and meaningful quotes. I offer multiple options for movement and empower students to choose what works for them.My teaching is influenced by many modalities, traditions, cultures and teachers including Desikachar, functional range conditioning, somatic experiencing, pilates, mindfulness, and teachers of the Branches.
